Happy 5th Birthday, Gavin

Sweet Gavin,

Our little Boo. Our little baby, our love, our sweet, sweet boy. Adding you to our family was a perfect fit and it's hard to remember when you weren't here. You bring all of us such joy and laughter.
Today you turn 5. How is that possible? I still can see you as a little babe in my arms, who always wanted to snuggle just a little bit more. You still love to snuggle. And now when we do you take up my whole lap, long limbs sticking out, mass of blond curls in my face. I'll always want to snuggle you just a little bit more too.

You're so big, brave, bright, silly and always ready for the next adventure. Did I mention silly? Your antics, dimples, dancing, singing and attempts at jokes always make us laugh. You have such a cheerful outlook on life and a true need to share it with others. What a blessing you are to those around you, little man.
You light me up with your smile, Gavin, and with your determination and drive. I've watched you push yourself these last few years. You've adjusted to a whole new world through your first pair of glasses. You've worked tremendously hard fine tuning your speech through two years of classes and soon you'll graduate. I'm so very proud of you.

We've loved watching you light up on the soccer field, Gavin, where you became the sports star you always imagined yourself to be. I'll never forget your first goal and the way you jumped around the field giving high-fives to your buddies. Or the way you always gave high-fives and encouraging words to your buddies, no matter what the score.

Oh, Gavin, I'm so lucky to be your mama.

Today.

Every day.

I love you, Boo.

Love,
Mama
