Christmas was started out a little blue this year. Natalie developed a fever during the night before Christmas Eve (Christmas Eve Eve?) and by the morning it was holding steady. Soon she developed croup and there was no chance of getting her to church to sing in choir or to my family's Christmas Eve celebration. She spent the day curled up in bed, most of it with me by her side either reading to her or snuggling her. Every time she would ask about Christmas plans she would start to softly cry. It was all so sad.
Jason took Gavin to church to sing and then we switched roles so I could take him to Christmas Eve celebrations. It was weird to be there with just half our little family, but we made the most of it. We had a beautiful lasagna dinner, opened gifts and visited a while.
Thankfully, Natalie was a different girl in the morning! We packed up and headed to Dwain and Benita's for a Christmas overnight and had a wonderful time there too.
