One of the nicest features of a cruise is the all-inclusive dining. Other than alcoholic drinks (which none of us purchased) and fancy coffees, everything we could imagine to eat or drink was already provided. Yet, even with the endless supply of food, the obvious emphasis was on quality. Every time we sat down to a meal, the food was so fresh and delicious, especially the fruit and sea food. We ate tons of pineapple, watermelon and strawberries. We savored scallops, tilapia, salmon, crab, mussels, trout and more. For breakfast we dined on mickey waffles, eggs, meats, cold cuts, danishes and hot coffee.
Even better than the food was the service. We were matched with two wonderful servers, Marko and Ema, and they served us dinner every night on the cruise, meeting us at a new restaurant each night. They spoiled the kids by cutting up their meatloaf, putting their napkins on their laps and drawing a Mickey Mouse face with ketchup on their plates. Marko even transformed the kids' menus into folded paper frogs and flowers.
Marko and Ema remembered our favorite beverage choices, recommended the best entrees and served everything with a smile. They brought us course after course of beautifully plated cuisine. Some of it was so artistic, I hardly wanted to take a bite. But then the smell soon had me picking up my knife and fork to dig in. I honestly must say I loved every meal we had on the ship.
We made our dinners even more special by celebrating a few special occasions - Dwain and Benita's 35th anniversary, Gavin's 4th birthday and Natalie's 6 birthday. They went all out with special desserts, singing and cheering. What a celebration!
