I officially have a second-grader now! Natalie celebrated her last day of first grade May 30. (I made sure to fly home from D.C. the day before, so I wouldn't miss it.) She was so excited to have treats with her friends and celebrate all she had accomplished. I'm most amazed by Natalie's reading. She went into first grade reading very specific simple books. She left reading anything she could get her hands on. This summer, she's moved onto chapter books, reading them quietly by herself in her bed.
