Jason's parents treated us to another amazing week at the lakes again this summer. We returned to Breezy Point Resort after having such a wonderful time last year.
We weren't disappointed. I really can't even describe how relaxing it was. The cabins are absolutely gorgeous and though this one was smaller than last year's, I liked it better. The kids had their own little reading and play room and we had plenty of room to spread out. Even rainy days were amazing, as we could read, play and bake inside, away from chores and responsibilities for a while.
The resort setting is beautiful as well, with thick trees all around the peaceful lake. We could hear the loons all day and night, a haunting cry in the distance. There was a playground for the kids, a soft sand beach, a pontoon boat for our use any time and rafts for the kids to swim out to. Honestly, we couldn't ask for anything more.
Fishing was one of the favorite activities. Thanks to the pontoon, we could all head out together and still have plenty of room. We caught mostly crappies, but brought in a small mouth bass as well. We even had enough to grill a fish dinner one night early in the week. Delicious.
Natalie and Gavin ready for some fishing
I remember driving the boat with my grandpa and uncles at this age.
Can't you just see her driving a car in a few years?
We've got a weird tradition in this family of kissing fish.
I can't seem to stop it, so I'm just pretending there aren't any germs involved.
Natalie's crazy excited to kiss the fish, but can't seem to actually pucker up.
