We are having one long, exhausting, head-banging-into-a-wall awful transition from school to summer schedule.
And, as my sister so kindly pointed out, our kids aren't even technically in school yet. Thanks, Nikki.
But something about switching from our predictable preschool, speech, MOPS, ECFE days to a more laid back schedule of swim lessons and Safety Town has sent our household into a state of madness.
Maryann, I can hear your words of wisdom over and over in the background: "This too shall pass." It's become my mantra really. At least if you see me talking to myself in public, you'll know what I'm muttering.
This week is a pinch better than the last two. There are a few beautiful minutes each day when the kids mind me and we enjoy a little activity together. Then they quickly return to bickering, fighting, chasing, grumbling, throwing themselves to the ground and whining.
It's still not as bad as my worst day since colic, but they're not the days I'll look back on with a warm
glow. Nope, I'll be blocking these out by next Tuesday, thank you.
Just give my some warm weather soon and we'll be working out these crabbies poolside.
And on to enjoying the rest of our summer.
