Three’s a Charm

For the third weekend in a row, we hit the road with the packed up Corolla – yes, all four of us, a huge pack-n-play, double stroller and tons of bags fit in the tiny sedan. This time, we traveled with Natalie’s Godparents, dear friends of ours for many years. With them and their five kids in a van and us in the car, we road tripped to Duluth for two days of relaxing, playing and exploring. Between the zoo, maritime museum, Canal Park, Enger Tower and swimming at the hotel, we didn’t waste a minute.

I love traveling with their family. The kids are adorable and very sweet – and we’ve known them since their oldest was just three and the youngest were a few months old and just home from the hospital. When we signed up to volunteer with the babies (who wouldn’t want to hold sweet newborns for a few hours once a week?), I never expected we’d get to know their family so well. They really feel like an extended part of our own family and we’re honored to be called their honorary aunt and uncle.

June has been amazingly full and busy, but exactly what I was hoping for. We’re filling our time with friends, family, vacations and more. It’s just what we’ve needed.
