"What?!" I bolted upright. "No, you don't. It's just dry." I flung myself out of bed and march after him to the bathroom. One look at his face and "Crap. It is pinkeye."
How? How is it possible for this dreaded eye disease to STILL be in our house. We've gone through about two cans of Lysol and a Sam's Club tub of Clorox wipes cleaning every surface in our house multiple times since I had pinkeye twice and Natalie had it once last month. We've invested nearly $150 in a doctor visit, multiple prescription refills and replace eye make-up and now we have another $25 or $50 to go.
Blasted pink eye!
So Jason called Dial-a-Nurse this morning to explain our predicament. Her theory -- he didn't actually catch it from our home. It has been two weeks since I got over my last bout and we've been so good about cleaning. He likely caught it from somewhere else and just HAPPENED to get it now. At least that's good news ... I think.

Sheesh. Pink eye is terrible. I'm sorry you guys have had more than your fair share of it this winter. I thought of you all last week when Eddie got the stomach flu. We thought he was over it after two days, went to the grandparents' house, and on the way home Eddie threw up all over me and the car seat. Poor kid. A week later, he is finally getting over it. Pray for an illness-free summer!
Oooh, poor Eddie! That's awful! I'm so glad he's feeling better now. And man, those car seats are not made for that sort of thing -- clean up is a pain! Yes, let's all hope for a better summer!
