By now, you know we love Legos in this house. The kids are at the Lego table daily, either tinkering with an ongoing project or wiping it clean to start something new.
They both receive the free Lego Club Magazine - the junior issue for Gavin and the Friends issue (soon) for Natalie. Gavin pours through each issue, reading the stories with dad and staring in awe at the contest winner pages.
"I want to be in a Lego contest," he tells me over and over.
"Go for it, Gavin," we both encouraged and I promised to send in a photo for him as soon as he was ready.
A couple weeks ago he finally decided he was ready to build. With a little help from dad, he spent a couple hours putting together what he calls "Fire Car," a bike track that includes a jump over a fire.
He couldn't stop smiling, so proud of his creation and a chance to get his picture in the magazine.
As I printed off a photo, marked it up for the contest and mailed it off, I couldn't help but hope for him too.
