Since Natalie's first summer, we've had friends surprise us with sweet May Day baskets. With a little baby, I hadn't even thought about celebrating, but I promised myself I'd help her put together a couple simple treats the next year.
Five summers later, I finally remembered!
We kept it very simple, making cone baskets out of construction paper the kids colored for their friends. We tied on ribbon handles and stuffed them with a few treats I already had in the cupboard - candy, raisin boxes, stickers and pencils. We also tossed in a couple homemade crayons - a few extras after we transformed the bucket of old broken crayons from our church busy bags.
The kids had a great time ringing doorbells and dropping of their treats.
Now, if I can just remember this again next year.
