Our baby celebrated his second birthday, Friday. With our family/God parents party already done the week before, it was a pretty quiet evening with just the four of us. Gavin blew out candles, gobbled up a cupcake and then opened a few gifts. He was pretty chill about the whole thing, but boy, have we noticed that he's two.
Just in the past two weeks he's started talking in complete sentences. Some of it is still pretty hard to understand, but we can usually catch on. And if we correct a few of his words, he'll repeat them back correctly for us. He has all kinds of fun ideas and stories to share with us and in the next few months we'll finally get a better understanding of those.
He's also been throwing some pretty respectable fits. Ahh, love the twos. Gavin's got some attitude now and he's not afraid to use it. Oh, well, I guess it's good to have a little zip in your personality. Hopefully as his language expands, fits will decrease and he'll be able to tell us more why he's upset.
Even with the tantrums, we're looking forward to the twos, watching our baby grow into a little man, step by step. We've loved the journey thus far.
Happy Birthday, Boo.
