Coin Lace and Cable Wrap

When I received a couple Prairie Yarns gift cards for my birthday in 2012, I knew I was ready to make a bigger project and make it for myself. Wanting a wrap to use on cooler nights, especially for snuggling up with a good book, I searched around online. I also wanted to try a more challenging pattern and even cabling. When I found the Coin Lace and Cable Wrap, I knew I was ready.
The lovely ladies at Prairie Yarns suggested Cascade Ultra Pima and I loved it instantly. It's washable cotton, but oh so soft and it has a bit of weight to it too. I bought eight skeins, using two at a time for double-knit.
In all, the wrap took me nearly a year to finish, putting it down to work on other projects or just to take several weeks off from knitting. But it brought me such joy and relaxation in creating. I’d carefully work my 8-row pattern again and again, watching it grow in length and beauty.
In the end, I only needed 6 skeins to reach the desired length, so I’ll be sure to mark up my pattern. And that also gives me 2 skeins to create something new.
Now, I'm thinking it's time to shop for a fun spring dress to match my new wrap!
