The kids and I headed to the tennis court the other day to try out their new mini racquets. Gavin could have stayed for hours, hitting the ball up into the air again and again. Natalie tired after a while and found a toad to follow around in the grass. Man, that girl reminds me of myself at that age. Poor Grandpa Joe spent countless hours trying to get me and Nikki to golf, but we couldn't stop chasing creatures around the course long enough to practice our swing.
I might not have great golf skills to pass on to the kids, but I feel highly qualified to teach tennis. It's my best (ahem, only) sport after all. Here's why I excel:
1. I played tennis in high school.
2. JV in fact.
3. As a senior.
4. After an entire summer of practice.
5. And private lessons.
Yep, I'm pretty talented.
Thankfully, it looks like Natalie and Gavin are already ahead of me:
