On a whim, I subscribed to Real Simple magazine this fall. I love flipping through the magazine for ideas to fix up my home, decorate, organize and create. The magazine also includes so many coupons and rebate ideas I'm sure I've already paid for my subscription.
Most of all, I love the food section. With a full-time job outside the house, I don't have a lot of time to plan and prepare meals. My kids are starving the second we walk in the door and even a light snack can spoil their appetite. They're also early-to-bed kiddos, with lights out at 7 p.m. So needless to say, there's not a lot of time at the end of the day to fit in a fancy supper.
Thanks to Real Simple, I've already found several recipes that made it into my binder, sure to become family favorites. Just a few ingredients, easy to prep, short bake times and delicious. Can't ask for much more than that.
Last week I used some delicious hamburger from my friend's parents' cattle ranch to create two easy meals. Hamburger sweet potato turnovers are the perfect treat to warm up with on a snowy evening. Couscous-stuffed peppers smell as beautiful as they look. I know I'll make those for company sometime soon.
