It's Time

After nearly six months on the market, our house finally sold! And, to make things even better, we're buying the house we fell in love with this summer. Did I mentioned we're closing on both in two or three weeks?!

It's been a waiting game for so long, it's exhilarating to be packing, planning, scrambling and panicking -- ok, so maybe not the panicking part, but I think that's a natural occurrence when you're trying to get four people, two dogs and all of their stuff out of a house in less than three weeks. We're still working out the paperwork details on both homes and I know I'll feel better when I have all of that set and our bank appointments scheduled. At least then I'll know everything's going through and have times and days to work with.

We're doing what we can at this point to keep the kids' schedules and routines unaffected. We decided that, at least for now, there's no point in trying to pack during the day since we'd be juggling two kids anyway. Instead, we're capitalizing on their early bedtime (7 p.m.) and packing until we either run out of boxes or hit 10 p.m. each night. Two nights down and 25 boxes are neatly packed, labeled and stacked in the office. We'll see if we can keep up the momentum.
