I'm so happy right now I'm nearly screaming! Tomorrow the nurses are going to pull my PICC!! I've had that little bugger (all 42 centimeters) in my arm and chest since July 2 and finally, finally, finally it's coming out Oct. 2! I'm so excited!!What this really means is I'm gonna make it! This challenging portion of pregnancy is in the past. I'm steroid-free and on my oral Zofran -- no more IV fluids and no more IV Zofran!
Finally, I'll be able to hold my darling Natalie again. I'll be able to take a shower without taping my arm in a bag. I'll be able to wash my hair with both hands. I'll be able to grow arm hair again without nurses ripping it off every week! I will no longer be a bionic mommy! :)
Don't get me wrong -- without my PICC life would have been dozens of times worse this summer. In fact, I feel completely blessed for all of the wonderful medical care I received.
But oh, happy day, to feel good and have it taken out is the best feeling ever!
