Natalie loved her first trip to the lakes this month. Grandma and Grandpa were kind enough to rent a lake cabin on Pelican Lake for a week and invite us to join them. We stayed in an adorable three-bedroom cabin, ate wonderfully home-cooked meals made by Grandma, played at the beach, waded in the water (it was cold many days, so no real swimming), fished and visited some nearby towns. Natalie frequently pointed to the back door and said "go, wa-wa." She loved just to look out on the lake, walk down the dock and run through the grass. She gobbled watermelon, tomatoes, bananas, salad (yes, salad. Have you ever heard of a toddler loving lettuce?), corn, beans and melon. Grandma likes to laugh at fact that when offered a cookie, Natalie spit it out. Yep, she's the one that keeps us eating healthy!
She also started talking more this week. "I wash," "I see" (mostly when wanting to look at digital photos on cameras), "I do it," "I go," "Elmo" and "Cookie" (for Cookie Monster, her new favorite.) It's so fun to finally know more what she's thinking!
