He's Back

Gavin's smiles and big belly laugh have always made me beam, but they're nearly bringing me to tears these days. Good tears. The kind that well up in your eyes because your heart aches with joy.

He's better! He's really getting better!

The months of ear infections and ruptured eardrums are - and I say this with all of my toes and fingers crossed (OK, I need at least two fingers to peck out this entry) - a thing of the PAST!

Prayers, chiropractic treatments and the largest bottle of antibiotics I've ever seen are doing the trick. And his smile shows it.

He's always been a happy little boy, even when really sick. So, without really us noticing, he'd gradually cut back on his smiling and laughing while he was feeling so horrible. He was still in a good mood and we didn't notice the change. And then, the ears cleared up and - WOW - what a new boy! He's rolling over with laughter these days. Natalie just looks at him and he busts out with a "ha ha ha." I say "I'm going to get you" and he runs across the room, laughing the entire way. Sometimes he even cracks himself up. Big, goofy, crooked bottom teeth, chubby cheeks, bright eye smiles and laughs.

And I'm eating it all up.
