We’ve come to discover Natalie lives in a little world we like to call Opposite Land. At first, we thought she was just a bit confused, asking for the light to be off when it was off. We practiced on and off with her, flipping the switch and reiterating the light’s status.
But it wasn’t long before we realized she was mixing up many other terms too -- but always, always using them the wrong way. “I want to go upstairs,” she’d say, pointing down the stairs. “I want to go inside,” she’s whine pointing out the deck door. “That’s too loud,” she’d holler at me when I was whisper-singing one of her favorite songs. “That’s too hot?” she’d ask about a cup of yogurt I handed her.
At least we've finally caught on and can help her get this all straighted in...er, I mean, out!
