Natalie has really started talking this week, throwing together sentences that catch us off guard and usually send us laughing. A couple days ago it was “I wanna go to school,” while standing at the baby gate at the top of the stairs. My gosh, it about blew me away! I had no idea she could put so many words together, and so clearly. She’s also spouted off sentences about meals and playing with toys. I wish I’d be better about writing them all down.
The sweetest was a couple night ago, after we’d given her a bath in the kitchen sink (long story, don’t ask.) Jason was holding her and drying her off when she turned to me, her eyes soft and sweet, and said, “I baby.” She laid her head on Jason’s shoulder and snuggled deeper into his arms. Here she’s always acting older and older, such a big kid, but she was reminding us she’s still a little one in need of lots of love and affection. “I am a baby.”
Yes, Natalie, you’ll always be our sweet little baby.
